Sign-Up Cost

If the service address is located in our service area in Iowa or southern portion of Minnesota (to view a map of the existing service areas, click here), the cost to sign-up is $450.00.

The $450.00 includes $150 for membership and the remaining $300 goes towards construction.

ILRW installs the service line to the home or meter pit and a meter, but the customer is responsible for having a plumber come and make the final connection between the plumbing and meter.

The sign-up cost is reviewed by the Board of Directors annually and adjusted only if deemed necessary.

Installation Date

If a customer signs up for rural water and pays the full amount at that time, ILRW will move forward with installing the service line when in the area.

Your installation date will be determined by a number of factors, including the number of people that need to be installed that year, weather, equipment, supplies, etc.

The construction manager may be able to give you a tentative date, but please note that the date given is subject to change depending on the above mentioned circumstances.

Monthly Water Bill

The monthly minimum is $49.62 plus tax for customers in Iowa and the highlighted area of Minnesota. The minimum covers 0 - 2,000 gallons of water usage. Above 2,000 gallons, there is declining rate schedule for each additional 1,000 gallons of water used.

As an average, each person uses 2,000 gallons per month. Therefore, a family of four would typically use between 6,000 and 8,000 gallons each month. The family's water bill would range between $87.00 to 106.00.

Every member is responsible for paying on the debt service to build and maintain the water system, therefore the monthly minimum is due each month for all members, including seasonal users.

American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa credit and debit cards are accepted.

Official Payments, the service provider, charges a convenience fee for payment processing.
